Located in London Road, Reading RG1 5BN, Kendrick grammar school is a selective school for girls aged 11 to 18. The school teaches over 800 girls. In 2006, the Kendrick federation was formed between Kendrick girls’ school and Reading girls’ school. In 2008, both Kendrick grammar school and the reading school started a joint trust for educational excellence and enterprise. The two schools continue to work together. The headteacher of Kendrick is now the executive headteacher of both schools.
In 2011 the Kendrick school became an academy; it is also a specialist school in Languages, Mathematics and Science. In the last 4 Ofsted inspections, the school was awarded ‘Outstanding’ status. Each year, approximately 30 girls join the sixth form from other schools. The Kendrick school offers a broad curriculum that combines modern and traditional learning approaches to ensure the girls are entirely prepared for all the challenges they might face after school.

The school also take non-routine admissions when the vacancy is created. The vacancy is generally created when a number of students on roll from a particular year group leave the school and the number of students in a particular year group drop below the admission number.
