Founded in 1432, Sevenoaks is one of the oldest non-denominational yet diverse, forward-thinking, modern schools. The schools admit day pupils at 11+ only and boarders and day pupils at 13+ and 16+. In the sixth form, Sevenoaks takes around 75 to 80 places annually.

Located in seal hollow road, Weald of Kent Grammar School academy, status trust has also submitted a proposal for the Sevenoaks grammar school annexe. Although it’s illegal to build a new school (grammar) in England, government encourage successful schools to expand; therefore, it would be possible to open an annexe.

Admission to Sevenoaks Kent Grammar School
For admission into year 7 at Sevenoaks Grammar School, children have to clear the 11 plus entrance exam. Applications for admission into Sevenoaks Grammar School is made one year prior to the entry using the Online application form with the non-refundable registration fee of £175. The 11 plus entrance exam includes and depends on the written exam (Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning), a group interview, and a report from the pupil’s previous school.
We suggest parents attend the open event organised by the school before applying for admission to know more about the school, staff, teaching methods, facilities, and whether the school is fit for your child or not. At 11 plus, up to 80 children are admitted at 11+, into four parallel forms. The reference letter is requested from the child’s previous school in the Autumn term of year 6. The entrance exams and group interviews are taken in January and parents will get the results of the test in February. In case, your child is offered a place, a payment of £2,000 need to be deposited by the deadline in early March.

Written exam
- The English paper is of 1 hour that includes two sections, section A for comprehension which is of 35 minutes and section B for creative writing and composition which is of 25 minutes.
- The Maths exam is also of 1 hour, the paper test problem solving and mathematics skills of a child.
